Canberra

This cityscape is a dream. A carefully planned city that also has the honour of being the seat of government. Strong and inventive architectural styles offer the photographer endless opportunities for observation and play.

Architecture

The shapes of buildings, the juxtaposition of new and old, the character and variety of architectural forms, has always been a fascination for me. I am interested in the way the light falls, the crevasses and cracks, the everyday details that become something more.

Wellington

Wellington is the city of my birth. It is the home of wild southerly winds that launch the unprepared into flight. It is where the country's politicians walk the same footpaths as everyone else. It is where the earth moves in big and small thrusts to the whims of continental plates and where buildings cling determinedly to the steep hills. It is a city that I love and these are photos taken in its heart, Thorndon, where the first settlers arrived and built their dreams for the future. Author Katherine Mansfield was born here and the Wellington fault-line runs just to the west of the country's Parliament buildings. It is a place of immense history, possibility and imminent danger.

Scottsdale Arizona

Not far from renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright/s Taliesin West (a world heritage site) along East Del Tiburon Drive in Scottsdale’s McCormick Ranch. is an enclave of homes designed by Taliesin Architects, the firm founded by apprentices of Frank Lloyd Wright. Together with the neighbouring Mountain View East development, these residences are celebrated for their organic architecture, designed to harmonise with and reflect the surrounding desert landscape.
